In the third trimester, treatments are on an as needed basis as your body is already stable, unless your biomarkers are not within normal range.

The month prior to birth, weeks 36-40, is the best time to prepare your body for labor and delivery. Acupuncture pre-birth treatments help prepare the mother for an efficient and smooth labor with less stress and anxiety.

Breech Positioning:

In our clinic, we have very effective techniques to turn a breech presentation. It is a safe and effective alternative to surgery and reduces the risk of complications resulting from breech births. We usually achieve results between one and ten sessions. In addition to acupuncture we use moxibustion, which involves heating the acupuncture points with Chinese mugwort. Acupuncture and moxibustion have been used to turn breech babies for centuries. Recent studies have shown, women treated with acupuncture were more likely to have the fetus move to the proper position for delivery than women who did not receive any treatment.

Labor Preparation and Pre-Birth Acupuncture:

Coming SoonAcupuncture treatment for labor promotes readiness of the cervix, increases the strength and frequency of contractions, reduces fear, anxiety and exhaustion and helps with pain management.

Often our patients come in their 39th week to stimulate labor especially if the baby is heavy. By being proactive and receiving acupuncture after 39 weeks you can increase your chances of having vaginal delivery and avoid drugs to stimulate contractions as well as avoid C-section. Women that have acupuncture before their labor, experience a much easier and faster delivery.
