At the Westside Acupuncture &
Natural Healing clinic only sterilized and disposable needles of the
highest quality are used, to guarantee the safety and comfort of every
patient. Acupuncture needles are inserted in strategic points of the
body to correct and balance the flow of energy, stimulating the body's
own ability to heal itself. Acupuncture needles are 25-50 times thinner
than a regular hypodermic needle, providing the patient with a virtually
painless treatment.

Moxibustion is a technique where
Chinese mugwort is used to apply heat in certain acupuncture points
to treat certain debilitating conditions as well as muscle pain and
arthritis. There are two types of moxibustion techniques that are
selected for specific conditions. With moxibustion sticks, the practitioner
lights up the stick of mugwort and holds it close to the acupuncture
needle to apply heat. Moxibustion rolls are placed on the acupuncture
needles and are burned to apply heat directly to the needles.
